Prima Latina is a Latin preparatory course. It is intended for use by teachers with no background in Latin and students in K-3rd grade. Its goal is to teach and reinforce an understanding of the basic parts of speech while teaching beginner Latin. Prima Latina is accompanied by an audio CD which includes pronunciation direction. Latina Christiana I Flashcards are an ideal study aid for the program. Prima Latina teaches seven parts of speech, 125 Latin vocabulary words, numbers one through ten, basic constellations, and simple introductions to tenses, derivatives, conjugations, and declensions. Each of the 25 new lessons includes a new grammar skill, five vocabulary words, a practical Latin phrase, and one line of a prayer that is learned in totality by the end of the chapter. The lesson exercises are thorough and provide constant review. |

Latina Christiana I is a beginning course specifically written for the
homeschooling parent or teacher with no background in Latin. Each lesson consists
of ten vocabulary words, a set of grammar forms, and a Latin saying. Exercises reinforce
memory work, teach systematic grammar and provide simple translation. Prayers, songs,
conversational Latin, history lessons, maps, and games add interest and motivation. The Teachers Manual provides grammar overview, teaching guidelines, recitation schedule, scripted lesson plans, tests, keys, and background information on Latin sayings and Roman history. Contains both Christian and classical content. The thirty lessons can be completed in a year or longer. |

Latina Christiana II is designed to follow Latina Christiana I.
By the end of this course, students will have learned all five noun declensions,
some model principal parts for the four verb conjugations, three tenses, and the
use of the nominative and accusative cases. The Teachers Manual has detailed grammar lessons and many helpful teaching hints. Latina Christiana II contains five short "readings", three Scripture passages for translation, passages for memorization, including the Gloria, the Sanctus, and the Doxology, two hymns, Veni, Veni Emmanuel and Veni Creator Spiritus, and the famous medieval school song, Gaudeamus Igitur. The thirty lessons can usually be completed in one year. |

Lingua Angelica is an excellent Christian Latin reading and translation course. The CD contains 4 Latin prayers and 24 Latin hymns beautifully sung by a 6 voice acapella choir. The Student Book provides facing vocabulary, space for interlinear translation, and grammar word study exercises. In addition to well written instructions on how to use the course, the Teacher's Manual contains a complete copy of the student book with answers to make the teacher's job easier. Also included is a song book with the musical scores and short histories for each piece. PLEASE NOTE: This is not a replacement for a Latin grammar course. |
